People
Our people are at the centre of everything we do. From sharing experiences and development opportunities to volunteering our time and skills, we create an environment where individuals feel supported, connected, and able to thrive, strengthening both our workplace and the communities we are part of.
When our people give their time, impact travels further
Over the past year, our people have supported the good causes they care about most, giving their time, skills and energy to projects that make a visible difference.
Together, that collective effort has added up to something powerful. We raised £100,000 for our charity partners, volunteered more than 3,000 hours, and worked with over 100 causes through 400 activities across the UK. Each one was made possible by our commitment to giving everyone up to 15 hours of paid volunteering leave each year, empowering our people to contribute in ways that feel meaningful to them.
Our impact wasn’t limited to one location. It reached across the areas where we operate, guided by what each community needed most and delivered with our local partners. From hands‑on practical support to mentoring and skills‑sharing, our people worked alongside charities, schools and community groups to help them do more of what matters.

Here’s a snapshot of where that shared effort reached:

Each action on its own might feel small, but together, they’ve strengthened local connections to help communities thrive. This is how impact grows, not through one‑off initiatives, but through many people pulling in the same direction, alongside partners who know their communities best.
A challenge powered by our people
In January, our people came together for Pedal with Purpose, our first static bike charity challenge. What began as a day of cycling quickly turned into something bigger, connecting our offices with our charity partners and the communities they support.
Across eight office hubs, 432 cyclists got involved. Our Reading office topped the leaderboard on the day, but that was never the main aim. What mattered most was seeing our people cheer each other on, welcome clients and partners into the challenge, and get behind causes that really mean something to them.
Every ride had a personal ‘why’ and that shared sense of purpose really came through, with our people, clients and partners all taking part. Here’s what some of them had to say:
By the end of the challenge, that collective effort had translated into tangible support for charities across the UK. Select the locations on the map to see what our teams achieved.
Pedal with Purpose wasn’t just about miles or money. It was about our people pulling in the same direction, supporting causes that they care about and turning shared values into real-world outcomes.
Celebrating the people behind our progress
Throughout the year, we take time to recognise the people that sit behind our progress, not just what we do, but how we do it, together.
That spirit comes to life at the Gateley Team Spirit Awards. Now in its eighth year, the awards bring our people together from across the business to celebrate those who go above and beyond in their day‑to‑day role. They shine a light on collaboration, generosity with time and a genuine commitment to supporting others.
Every person shortlisted showed what our shared values look like in action. Their impact reaches further than individual teams, creating positive experiences for colleagues, clients and the communities we work alongside. It’s a reminder that the way we show up for each other shapes the culture we’re proud of.
The same sense of connection runs through our annual Decades Dinner, where we celebrate ten, 20, 30 and 40 years of service. It’s a chance to reflect on the relationships and shared history our people have helped build, year after year.
Together, this year’s cohort represented an incredible 720 years of service. That depth of experience speaks to more than longevity. It reflects a collective commitment to helping Gateley grow in a way that’s true to who we are.
By celebrating both everyday collaboration and long‑term dedication, we recognise that progress isn’t driven by individuals alone. It’s created through shared effort and relationships that last, well beyond any single moment.
